Trains and Rail

Daily Commutes and Long Haul Freight

Previously one of my jobs was to develop simulation software for popular personal computers. While our main business was making flight simulation products, we were also involved with train simulation.

To do this, we spent a considerable amount of time researching railroad operations. Following are some of the photos that we captured to help us with various simulation projects.

Hopefully these pictures illustrate the extensive use of railroads across the globe.

Virtual Art Museum

from the digital archives

In one of my previous careers I was a frequent traveler.

Since the early 1980s, business has taken me to France dozens of time. During my free time I’d often visit the extraordinary art museums of Paris.

In the early years I was able to photograph most of the artwork. However, a few years later many of the museums began to put a moratorium on taking photographs.

With the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, none of us are able to visit these art museums so I’ve come up with an alternative.

Below is a small set of artwork that I have photographed and collected over the years. Most were taken at the famous Musee d’Orsay.

I hope you’ll enjoy this artwork as you take a walk through my virtual art museum

Also available is my Virtual Art Museum video for those of you who prefer to just sit back and watch the masterpieces scroll by.

Veteran’s Day

Today is Veteran’s Day.

Veteran’s Day is a time to thank and honor the millions of men and women who are currently serving or have served our country over the centuries.

Hundreds of thousands of our dedicated men and women are serving in the military at this very moment. They serve in many places around the globe and many of them are in harm’s way.

Below are a few of our family members who have served. I’m happy that we saved all of these photographs with which to remember their military days. Unfortunately, I am missing photos of several other uncles, cousins and in-laws who served in the Navy and Army.

BTW, that’s my uncle holding me

I’d like to express my deep appreciation to the millions of military men and women who have given much to us so that we can enjoy the freedom that is America.
