Ahead of the Snow
To the Tall Mountains of Montana
After our cross country drive to visit family in Utah and Nevada, we took a long detour north to Montana.
We were excited to take a few days to explore Glacier National Park again. Here are just a few photos that we snapped on our short visit to the park.
Logan Pass is near the top of Going To The Sun Road. This trail goes to Hidden Lake.
Not far from Logan Pass you can look downward into one of the many valleys. From this vantage point you can see McDonald Creek.
Here’s a selfie of Kris and myself taking a driving break on the snake-like Going To The Sun Road.
After descending from Logan Pass and the mountains we headed to Apgar and Lake McDonald.
Along its colorful shoreline, the waters of Lake McDonald are crystal clear (and cold this time of the year).
Along the western border in the Polebridge area are wide swaths of forests along the mountains.
Beargrass grows on the many slopes in Glacier NP.
On another pleasant sunny day we snapped a final selfie.
Although we had only a few days to experience the mountain air at Glacier, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Montana’s big sky country.
